Thilini Amarasooriya is the new Miss World Sri Lanka after being crowned in a glittering finale held at Hilton-Colombo on October 5. Thilini will represent Sri lanka in the Miss World 2015 pageant with the finals slated to be held on 19 December at the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China.
Thilini Amarasooriya is a 20 year old beauty who hails from the capital city of Colombo. She is a graduate of the National Insitute of Business Management and worked as a model prior to her participation at the nationals.
Sri Lanka, ranked 58th at the Big4 Pageant Ranking [CLICK HERE], registered 3 semifinalists and one 3rd runner-up finish since it first participated at Miss World in 1953. However, eversince Manohori Vanigasooriya made it to the semis in 1978 no Sri Lankan beauty has ever made the cut again.
