With tears rolling in her eyes, Miss World 2013 Megan Lynn Young arrived in her home country of the Philippines. She was greeted by ecstatic crowds both at the airport and at the Solaire Resort where the press conference was held. She beamed proudly while wearing that supposedly elusive blue crown. The crowds braved the rains – a sign of an impending typhoon about to crisscross the main island of the country – just to see their first ever Miss World. For them, Megan is a strong burst of sunshine.
Megan arrived in Manila at 1640 hrs this afternoon together with the CEO of Miss World, Julia Morley, aboard the Cathay Pacific flight 919. Tonight Megan will be featured in the first ever NBA Game to be held in the Philippines and tomorrow a special parade will be carried out in the city’s main thoroughfare.
