This year, Victoria Tooby is representing United Kingdom at the Miss International pageant. Gone are those years when the UK representative at the pageant were selected from the ex-Miss World contestants (think of Chloe Beth Morgan and Alize Mounter). Miss World and Miss International split ways putting into rest on what was then a convenient co-existence when the franchises of both pageants in the UK and Japan belongs to just one national organization.
Miss World launched Miss World Japan recently while Miss International UK is gaining some traction. Many analysts see the split as a healthy thing for the Japanese and UK pageantry scene. This will allow better selection and better chances for each nations to place in both Miss International and Miss World pageants.
