With four of the Big5 pageant winners already crowned, it is time to focus all attention to the upcoming Miss Universe competition. And no better way to end the current year but to reveal our second hot picks for the 65th Miss Universe.

Less than a month to go before the “Pearl of the Orient Seas” welcomes all the delegates but the competition is already heating up! The recent kick-off events with some of the candidates (mostly from Asia) seemed a preview of the intense competition that is about to happen on Philippine shores on January 30.

Leading our second hot picks is the Miss Thailand Chalita Suansane. After last year’s Top 10 finish (the country’s first semis appearance since 2007), it looks like the Land of Smiles is set for another placement.

Since she was crowned, Chalita has been busy training for the competition. Her countless photoshoots, runway trainings, fashion fittings and media apperances seem to have already worked on her favor as she was one of the standouts during the kick-off party. And with the Miss Universe now being held in Asia, it seems another Asian victory is within reach.

In second place is the unstoppable Raissa Santana of Brazil. As the first black woman to be crowned Miss Brazil in 30 years, Raissa’s victory has made a huge impact. Her fierce look, sexy walk and svelte figure are among her advantages. But with her inimitable charm and attitude, the judges eyes will most likely be locked on her during the competition.

The Netherland’s Zoey Ivory is in third place. After a pleasant surprise Top 5 finish in 2014, it looks like the Netherlands is set for another high placement this year with this 5’11” tall professional model and dancer.

In fourth place for now is Andrea Tovar of Colombia. After last year’s heartbreaking Steve Harvey blunder, Colombia is set to take revenge this year. And what a perfect way to do so by sending a top notch delegate who is just as strong as Ariadna Gutierrez. All eyes will definitely be on this 5’11” volleyball player upon arrival in Manila.

Completing the Top 5 is Shannon Harris of Barbados. Another lady to watch out for, this 22-year-old beauty is the first Miss Barbados in over nine years. As a ramp model and charity volunteer, she could very well change the game this year.

Not far behind in sixth is Maxine Medina of the Philippines. Her noticeable improvement in almost all aspects, especially her renewed confidence during interviews, is enough to make the Filipinos hope that a back-to-back win is within reach. With homecourt advantage plus the well-known fact that the Philippines has alread mastered the art of preparing candidates, don’t be surprised if Maxine makes it to the top.

Mexico’s Kristal Silva occupies the sevent spot. This Gabriela Isler deadringer has her Miss Earth experience to help her in her bid for Mexico’s third Miss Universe crown.

The soft-spoken Caris Tiivel of Australia is in eight place. Pressure is definitely on her to match or even surpass last year’s Top 5 finish. But with her regal bearing and undeniable beauty, Caris could countinue the streak for the Land Down Under.

Connie Jimenez of Ecuador lands in our ninth place. She is among the underrated beauties who could have the potential to surprise everyone come January. Two Ecuadorian beauties were crowned in the Philippines in 2016 (Miss Earth and Miss Global). Will Connie enjoy the same fate?

Finally, rounding up the Top 10 is Mariam Habach of Venezuela. Her country may be in deep social and economic crisis at the moment, but expect Mariam to bring class and fierce vibes in the competition. Her national pageant victory wasn’t warmly welcomed by observers, but she has been showing a lot of improvements lately.
