Russia is a large nation that is composed of various regions some of which enjoys autonomous status with some are even called republics within the federation. The demographic and cultural diversity of Russia is usually underappreciated but from the milky white people of the Republic of Karelia, which borders Finland, to the Asiatic looking people of Altai, Russia is in essence a multicultural nation. Just recently, the Miss Russia Organization published some of the photos showing the diverse and colorful regional costumes from the vast expanse of the nation.
