Zuheilyn Clemente was crowned as the new Miss Universe Honduras! The 22-year-old TV host from the capital city of Tegucigalpa was crowned in a glittering ceremony held at Club Hondureño Arabe in San Pedro Sula. She will now represent her country in Miss Universe 2023 which will be be held in El Salvador.
There were 20 candidates who vied for the national title. Lilian Pineda Bendeck of San Pedrosula was declared as first runner up while Stephie Alexandra Morel of Choloma was named 2nd runner-up.
To date, no Honduran beauty has ever captured the Miss Universe crown. The country’s campaign at the pageant has been suffering a drought for several decades already. Zuheilyn Clemente, whose beauty is likened to that of Miss Universe 2005 4th runner-up Monica Spear, hopes to end that drought.
