Yenny Carrillo, representing Catatumbo Barí, was crowned Miss Earth Colo,mbia 2019 during the finals held August 22 at the Teatro ABC in Bogotá and attended by reigning Miss Earth Nguyen Phuong Khanh.

The 25-year-old pageant veteran from San Martin del Cesar bested 15 other candidates for the right to represent the South American country at the 2019 Miss Earth contest in October in the Philippines.

“Thanks to the organization [Miss Earth Colombia] for giving me the opportunity to be your ambassador! The beautiful work of this organization is admirable, a contest where your essence and desire to serve are most important,” Carrillo posted on Instagram.

Her elemental court, who will also compete in other competitions, included Miss Agua Betania Rojas Rincón (Miss Eco International), Miss Aire Maria Carolina Quintero (Miss Landscapes International), and Miss Fuego Maria Paula Castillo (Miss Panamericana).

Carillo competed in several international pageants prior to joining Miss Earth Colombia. She was Reina Mundial del Banano 2017.
