A pageant veteran was crowned the new Miss Ecuador at the conclusion of the contest’s 63rd edition held May 5 at the Hotel Oro Verde in Machala.
Virginia Limongi, a 24-year-old model and nutrition student from Portoviejo, bested 21 other candidates for the right to represent the country in the next edition of the Miss Universe competition. She receieved the crown from last year’s winner Daniela Cepeda.
Limongi also bagged the lion’s share of special awards including Miss Popularidad and Mejor Traje Nacional.
This won’t be the first time that Limongi will wear the Ecuador sash in an international contest. In 2014, she competed at the Miss World pageant in England.
Michelle Huet finished first runner-up while Norma Tejada was second runner-up. The rest of the Top 6 were (in order) Blanca Arambulo, Hezsen Johts, and Ximena Arroyo. Missosology.Org
