Angela Ponce made history as the first transwoman to be crowned Miss Universe Spain.
The 25-year-old model from Cadiz will also be the first transwoman to ever compete at the Miss Universe stage when she represents her country in the international competition later this year.
Miriam Paredes finished first runner-up while Sheila Monjas placed second runner-up. Racquel Arias, Vanessa Fernandez, and Andrea de las Herras completed the Top 6 finalists.

Ponce is no stranger to pageants as she previously competed in Miss World Spain 2015 pageant. She lost to Mireia Lalaguna, who eventually won the Miss World crown that year.
