Persistence and patience are just some of the values that one can learn from beauty pageants. Michelle Dee first tried her luck at the international stage by representing the Philippines at Miss World 2019 where she made it as far as Top 12. Her persistence is what motivated her to try her luck at Miss Universe Philippines. Unfortunately, her first try in 2022 was a failure where she lost by a very thin margin. With remarkable patience and despite the odds, she tried again for the second time. In 2023, her efforts were rewarded and she finally won the right to represent her country at Miss Universe.
At Miss Universe 2023, her iconic hairstyle and evening gown were clear indicators that she was not afraid to show her unique characteristics. It may not be to the judges liking but she won four awards. She is now the most awarded Miss Universe contestant ever. Michelle Dee is iconic largely because of her persistence, patience and being unapologetically true to herself.
