Karla Guilfu Acevedo is one of the many unsung heroes of Puerto Rican pageantry. In a Miss Universe crazy country, her first runner-up finish at Miss Supranational 2021 pageant was barely noticed. She could have been her country’s second Miss Supranational titleholder and could have boosted Puerto Rico’s status in the Big5 Ranking.
Her Miss Supranational experience was nothing short of being spectacular. She was bestowed with Miss Elegance award prior to the finals night which confirmed her status as a frontrunner. Alas, in a field of very strong contestants, she fell short of clinching the crown. Ever humble, Karla simply relished every moment of her Miss Supranational journey. “Elegance is the only beauty that never fades,” she wrote in her Instagram post. No one could probably argue against that. After all, even though her achievement may not have elicited wide recognition in Puerto Rico, its impact, no doubt, will be timeless.
