Tayla Skye Robinson, a model and ballet teacher from Roodeport won the title of Queen of South Africa 2017, paving the way for this beautiful green-eyed blonde to represent the diverse Republic of South Africa in the 2017 Miss International Beauty Pageant.
Robinson, who was 2nd Runner-up last year at the Miss South Africa 2016 contest, will now start to prepare for the near impossible task of bringing the Miss International crown to the African continent for the very first time.  Since its inception in 1960, no African has ever won this title which has been based in Japan for over 50 years.
The Miss International 2017 contest will be held in Tokyo this November.  Last year, Tharina Botes, who is of Thai descent, represented South Africa in the annual contest which welcomed a record number of six Africans.  Miss International is under the auspices of the International Cultural Association, which is now being chaired by Akemi Shimomura of the Miss Paris Group.
Meanwhile, during the same event, Dwayne Geldenhuis won the male counter title of King of South Africa 2017.
