Tatiana Kumar was crowned Miss Malaysia World 2016 on Saturday, besting 18 other candidates for the chance to represent the country at the 2016 Miss World pageant.
This was Kumar’s first foray into pageantry and said she never thought she could win. Aside from the top plum, she also bagged Miss Metrojaya, Miss Wacoal (the lingerie sponsor) and the Top Model Award.
“During the whole pageant week, I got to know the girls even better, and they are all so sweet and supportive. They’re all beautiful and have really good hearts. So I was wondering who was going to win,” the 18-year-old beauty of Indian and French parentage told The Malay Mail Online.
Dr Ranmeet Jassal, sister of Miss Universe Malaysia 2016 Kiran Jassal, was the first runner-up. She also won Miss Beautiful Hair. Shwera Sekhon finished second runner-up, while Jessica Lim and Francisca Luhong James were third and fourth runners-up, respectively.
Lim also won Miss Personality, Miss Social Media Queen, and Miss Popularity. James bagged Miss Talent, Miss Elegant, and Miss Natural Beauty. Miss Fitness went to Joyce Khoo, while Adelina Chan won Miss Photogenic. DF, Missosology.Org; Photos by Lionel Lee – Official Photographer of MMW2016
