Tashan Kapene was crowned Miss Earth New Zealand 2019 during the finals held April 13 at the Waipuna Hotel & Conference Centre in Auckland.
The 19-year-old model and actress from Mount Maunganui bested 10 other candidates for the right to compete in the next edition of the Miss Earth pageant.
Her elemental court included Miss Air Aashna Saxena, Miss Water Simran Madan, and Miss Fire Charlotte Chapman-Kete.
