Sujita Basnet was crowned Miss Universe Nepal 2021 during the finals held October 30 at Hotel Yak and Yeti, Durbar Marg.
The 28-year-old tech consultant, who is currently residing in the US, bested 15 other finalists for the title. She is expected to represent the nation at the 70th Miss Universe competition in Eilat, Israel in December. She suceeded 2020 titleholder Anshika Sharma.
Nina Kant Mandal placed first runner-up, while Rakchya Upreti finished second runner-up. Pratiksha Chhetri and Keshu Khadka were third and fourth runners-up, respectively.
Basnet was first runner-up in Miss Universe Nepal 2020.
