Who stood out at the Miss International 2017 Welcome Party?
It’s Kylie Verzosa!!
Kidding aside, this year’s Miss International edition is going to be one difficult year to assess. So many wonderful and talented women are now here in Tokyo to become Kylie’s successor. It seems that no matter what, Miss International still remains as a competitive pageant year after year. Despite the claims of many that the pageant night is boring and needs to be overhauled, the annual spectacle never runs out of gorgeous women who fly all the way to Japan for an experience of a lifetime. Winning the title may just come as a bonus.
Last Friday, Miss International held their press conference while wearing beautiful kimonos. Later that night, they went to the welcome reception held at the Miss Paris Ginza building. Missosology was there during the exclusive event atteneded by VIP’s and possible judges during the final night on November 14th.
Based on our obeservation and the reaction of the VIP guests, these were the delegates who stood out:
Curacao‘s Chanelle De Lau was the most captivating and eye-catching of all. She brought her A-game during the welcome party and it’s a great thing! First impression is really important especially when the ICA chairperson, Akemi Shimomura, is around. While majority of the delegates did not even bother to exert some effort, Chanelle easily stood out in a sea of beautiful women. Her make-up was on point, and her high bun further highlighted her beautiful face and winsome smile. All the girls should learn a thing or two from this former Miss Universe delegate. No one could deny that presence was strongly felt at the party. Some important guests did not even want to stop talking to her.
Needless to say, Japan‘s Natsuki Tsutsui showed how gracious host she is. But that’s not to say that she should lower her standard for her guests. She looked outstanding and regal in her red gown. She was well-applauded and we could see satsifaction in eyes of the chairperson when Natsuki went up on stage. Some Japanese guests could not even believe that she is one of their own because they had not seen a Miss Japan of her caliber!
Ghana‘s Akorfa Daniella Awumah was also one of those who caught everyone’s attention. This exotic beauty from West Africa is the tallest delegate this year. She looked very original in her native cocktail dress, and looked really classy.
Of course, who could ignore the sexy and alluring Patricija Belousova of Lithuania? That dress was a scene stealer!
Meanwhile, Poland had some secret admirers at the audience after she showed up on stage. While South Africa and Nepal were considered as two of the prettiest faces. Venezuela also got some good words from the guests, but she was rather shy and coy. Meanwhile, Indonesia and Colombia were very sociable and bubbly.
There will still be more than two weeks to go before the coronation night. Anything can still happen and we suspect that some of the girls are saving their best shots for the last. But, this is Miss International! No one knows when are they being evaluated, and which activities actually had the presence of the invited judges for the final gala.
As we have been saying here in Missosology, Miss International is a battle of beauty, charm and most importantly, stamina!
