Manizales, Colombia – Spain’s Carmen Serrano Porras bested 22 other aspirants from all over the world, to become the 47th Reina Internacional del Cafe.  The 21-year-old native of Malaga becomes the second Spanish winner in the historical pageant, which started in 1957.  Manizales, the coffee capital of the world, prides itself of hosting this annual spectacle meant to promote Colombian coffee, and the region’s coffee-producing cultural heritage.
The title of Virreina or vice-queen went to Marta Magdalena Stepien of Canada, who is also the reigning Miss International Canada 2017.  1st Runner-up is Jay Fargas of Venezuela, 2nd Runner-up is Norma Angélica Díaz of Panama, while Puerto Rico’s Chelsey Mary García is 3rd Runner-up.
