24 year old beauty Silvia Cataldi from Puglia won the Miss Mundo Italia 2014 crown in a pageant held in Gallipoli, June 13. Silvia who has brown hair and blue eyes and dreamed of becoming a police officer someday will represent Italy at the Miss World 2014 pageant which is to be held in London.
The first runner-up is Rachelle Mori while Anna Faccin is the second runner-up. Finishing in the Top 5 are Raffaella DiCaprio and Vittoria Belogi. No Italian woman has ever won the Miss World crown although Giorgia Palmas almost did it in 2000 by finishing as first princess. Sofia Bruscoli in 2005 and Giada Pezzaioli in 2010 are the latest Italian women to come close in winning the crown by landing in the Top 5 or 6 of the pageant.
