Shwetajeet Kaur was crowned Miss Universe Malaysia 2019 during the finals held March 7 at The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
The 22 year-old freelance fashion model bested 17 other candidates for the right to compete at the 2019 Miss Universe competition. She received the crown and sash from last year’s winner Jane Teoh.
“There’s a lot of women out there who aren’t very confident about themselves. So I want to be an icon to tell them to just embrace yourself. Be confident of who your are,” Kaur was quoted by Hype Malaysia.
Frost Yaw Hui Jing placed first runner-up while Tessminderjit Kaur and Lee Su Hsien were second and third runners-up, respectively.
