Shannon Harris became the first woman to be crowned Miss Universe Barbados in nine years.
The 21-year-old model beat 13 other delegates for the right to represent Barbados in Miss Universe 2016. She received a tiara worth $10,000 by former title holder Jewel Garner. and $115,000 worth of prizes.
Jamiliah Forde and Christina Yearwood finished first and second runners-up, respectively. Yearwood also won Miss Congeniality. People’s Choice awad went to Anique Herbert while Melanie Thorpe won Miss Photogenic.
