Sade Greenwood was crowned Miss World Sri Lanka 2021 in a ceremony held recently.

The 19-year-old student will represent Sri Lanka at the 70th Miss World competition to be held in December in Puerto Rico. She succeeded 2019 winner Dewmi Thathsarani.

“As a little girl I always knew that I wanted to be somebody that made a positive difference in the world which is why I made it my mission to do as much as I could for my country and community. I strived to work hard and work towards my goal of one day representing my country on a global platform and bring awareness to the many charitable causes that I’ve been a part of over the years,” Greenwood posted on Instagram.

Greenwood is an avid animal activist and took part in an Animal Rights Silent Protest for the government to pass the Animal Welfare Bill. Her hobbies and interests include marine conservation, poetry and writing. She speaks English and basic Japanese.
