Rehema Muthamia, representing Bedfordshire, was crowned Miss England 2021 in a glittering finale held August 27 at the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre in Coventry.

The 25-year-old health technology worker will head on to represent the nation at the 70th Miss World in December in Puerto Rico. She succeeded 2019 winner Bhasha Mukherjee.

Jessica Gagen and Erin Smith were first and second runners-up, respectively. Also announced in the event is Mr England 2021 winner 28-year-old Liam Royce from Banbury, Oxfordshire.

“It’s also been such a privilege to get to know, stand beside and go through this unique journey with so many extraordinary young women in the competition. I hope I can make you all proud as your Miss World England 2021 󠁧󠁢󠁥and I can’t wait to represent England at the 70th Miss World in Puerto Rico this December,” Muthamia posted on Instagram.

Muthamia who spent most of her childhood in Kenya, is a genetics graduate from the University of Sussex and speaks four languages. As domestic abuse victim herself, Muthamia’s Beauty with a Purpose project raised money for Women’s Aid and hopes to use her platform to help other female victims.
