Rebecca Akwabi was crowned Miss Ghana2019 during the finals held July 6 at the at the Kempinski Hotel Golad Coast City in Accra, and attended by the reigning Miss World Vanessa Ponce de Leon.
The 26-year-old aspiring fashion designer will head on to compete at the 2019 Miss World contest in December in London. The student of Maureen Signature Institute bested 18 other candidates for th e title.
Sandra Amoani and Akosua Opoku placed first and second runners-up, respectively.
Miss World chairman and CEO Julia Morley was honored at the event for her contributions to Miss World and support to Miss Ghana. Morley was given a chieftaincy title as a Queen Mother for Bosomtwi Traditional Area in the Western Region.
