Monalysa Alcantara of the State of Piaui is the new Miss Brasil! The 18 year old Business Administration student who stands 5’10” reigned supreme in a field of of 27 contestants during the Saturday night extravaganza held in Ilhabela in the northern section of Sao Paulo State. The victory of Monalysa Alcantara marks the first ever back-to-back win of black beauties in the Miss Brazil contest.

Monalysa Alcantara will represent Brazil at the Miss Universe 2017 which is rumored to be held in Phoenix, Arizona this November. Finishing as first runner-up is Juliana Mueller of Rio Grande do Sul while Stephany Pim of Espirto Santo is the second runner-up. Completing the Top 5 are the contestants from Sergipe and Pernambuco.
