Philippine bet Karen Ibasco is Miss Earth 2017
In another first in the history of any major international pageant, the Philippines wins its third Miss Earth crown in just a span of four years, making it the undisputed country in the annual pageant by having four wins in total. Karen Ibasco (26) who is a medical physicist by profession and a true-blooded beauty and brains, bested 84 other hopefuls at the jampacked SM Mall of Asia Arena, Saturday night. She inherited the crown from past winner Katherine Espin of Ecuador.
Judged as the elemental queens were the delegates of Australia (Miss Air), Colombia (Miss Water) and Russia (Miss Fire). Top favorite and Missosology top pick Paweensuda Drouin of Thailand only settled for Top 8 finish.
