Phaimany Lathsabanthao will represent Laos at the Miss Universe 2023 pageant which will be held in El Salvador later this year. She is 28 years old and has a degree in business administration from National University of Laos. It is her second time to compete at the nationals. Last year, she made it to the Top 15 and was bestowed with Miss Photogenic award.
The Miss Universe Laos pageant was held at National Convention Hall in Vientiane where a total of 15 candidates participated. Phiranya Thipphomvong was named as first runner-up while Phavina Mounvongsa is the second runner-up.
Laos first participated at Miss Universe in 2017. Last year, Payengxa Lor made history when she became the first Lao beauty queen to make it to the semifinals of Miss Universe. Laos is currently ranked at 139th place at the Big5 Ranking.
