Ornella Lafleche, representing Beau Bassin-Rose Hill. was crowned Miss Universe Mauritius 2019 during the finals held September 17 at Caudan Arts Centre in Port Louis.
The 21-year-old marketing management student bested 14 other candidates fot the title, and the right to represent the island nation at the 2019 Miss Universe competition.
No stranger to pageants, Lafleche was first runner-up in both Miss University Africa Mauritius 2019 and Miss Eco Mauritius 2018.
Also crowned in the same event is Miss Supranational Mauritius 2019 Urvashi Hureeram of Pereybere. She will compete at the 2019 Miss Supranational contest in December in Poland.
