Ntandoyenkosi Kunene was crowned Miss South Africa 2016 at a glittering finale held March 19 at Carnival City in Johannesburg.

The 23-year-old teacher from Mpumalanga said education is her passion. “In my spare time I engage with young girls on the importance of education,” she added.

Elizabeth Malopo was crowned first princess while Tayla Skye Robinson, who walked away as the winner in the swimsuit section was crowned second princess.

Kunene is expected to compete in both the Miss Universe and Miss World pageants.
