Maria Esther Cortez Molina who was crowned as Miss World Nicaragua in November 2013 [READ http://missosology.org/miss-world/news-miss-world/3727-miss-nicaragua-2014-crowned/] relinquished her crown and title paving way for Yumara Lopez, the first runner-up. Although the Nicaraguan press has only indicated that her resignation is largely due to personal reasons, missosologists in Nicaragua has reported that her nude photos began to leak online. It was believe that her former boyfriend circulated the photos to malign her career.
Thus, Yumara Lopez, a 20 year old Business Administration student, will take over the task of representing Nicaragua at Miss World 2014 which is to be held on December 14 at London. Nicaragua has finished as 6th runner up in 1968 and 3rd runner-up in 2001 at Miss World but it is yet to win a crown.
