Miss Diaspora Nellie Anjaratiana was named Miss Madagascar 2020 in an all-virtual selection held July 17.
The 24-year-old life sciences degree holder bested six other candidates for the title and the right to represent the island country in the next edition of the Miss World contest.
“I can’t put words on my emotions. This will have been a long way and now let’s be united to push our homeland up,” Anjaratiana posted on her Facebook page.
Miss Ihorombe Faratiana Randriamaro placed first runner-up, while Miss Diana Tamara Vanimbelo was second runner-up.
