Naelah Alshorbaji of Parañaque City was crowned Miss Philippines Earth 2021 in a virtual finals aired August 8.

The 23-year-old Filipino-Syrian model bested more than 60 other candidates for the title and the right to represent the country at the 2021 Miss Earth pageant. She succeeded last year’s titleholder Roxanne Allison Baeyens, who was also crowned virtually due to limitations brought by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“It was such a surreal moment that it’s hard for me to even digest what happened completely and I want to make sure I don’t let anyone feel that their efforts go unnoticed, because this victory is not just mine but ours! The journey has only just begun and I look forward to your continued support as I compete as a representative for the Philippines,” Alshorbaji posted on Facebook hours after the virtual finals.

Her elemental court included Miss Philippines Air Miss Philippines Air of Atimonan, Quezon; Miss Philippines Water Rocel Angelah Songano of Iloilo City; Miss Philippines Fire Roni Meneses of Mandaluyong City; and Miss Philippines Eco Tourism Sofia Lopez Galve of Tanay, Rizal.

The rest of the Top 10 included the representatives of Malungon, Sarangani; Siniloan, Laguna; Santo Domingo, Albay; Silay City; and Sugbongcogon, Misamis Oriental.

The panel of judges included reigning Miss Earth Lindsey Coffey and Miss Earth 2018 Nguyen Phuong Khanh.
