Miss Ucayali Jennifer Barrantes was crowned as the new Miss World Peru in a glittering ceremony held in the capital city of Lima. Jennifer will represent Peru in the 71st Miss World pageant next year. She is 23 years of age and stand 5’8′ tall. She is fluent in Spanish and English and has completed her commercial aviation course. She launched her own organization called Patitas al rescate which provides rescue and care to abandoned cats and dogs.
A total of 17 contestants vied for the Miss World Peru 2022 crown. Finishing as first runner-up is Miss Callao Gianella Paz while Miss Loreto Lucia Arellano is the second runner-up. Peru has two Miss World titleholders: Madeleine Hartog-Bel who won in 1967 and María Julia Mantilla who was crowned in 2004.
