Wenanita Angang, a 23-year-old conference producer and a native of Sabah state emerged victorious from a field of 14 contestants and took the Miss World Malaysia 2022 title. She will compete at the 71st edition of Miss World which is expected to take place next year. Evelyn Ting was named as the first runner-up while the 2nd runner-up is Anya Kimberly. Miss World Malaysia 2021 Lavanya Sivaji passed the crown and title while the reigning Miss World Karolina Bielawska of Poland graced the event as a special guest.
Meanwhile another Sabahan emerged victorious after winning the Miss Supranational 2023 title. Deidre Walker, a model and a psychology graduate, bested 9 other finalists to earn the right to represent Malaysia at the Miss Supranational 2023 pageant. She was crowned by the outgoing queen Miss Supranational Malaysia 2022 Melisha Lin. Vinthiya Vasu from Kuala Lumpur is the first runner-up while Sarawak native Vivienna Alfred is the second runner-up.
The pageant was held at Sabah International Convention Center in Kota Kinabalu. Also crowned during the pageant is Charissa Chong who took the Miss Grand Malaysia 2022 title.
