Brisbane girl Tess Alexander was announced the winner of Miss World Australia 2015 in a ceremony held ugust 29 at Crown Perth.

The 23-year-old model and personal trainer beat 43 other contestants to be crowned with the $2.5 million pink diamond tiara.

“It’s been an incredible four days and we’ve done so many challenges throughout and been tested and made some amazing friends throughout so this is just an incredible bonus,” she said in an interview.

First runner-up was Alex Hecker while Grace Gowdie finished second runner-up. Competing the top 5 were Jenna Seymour and Tarrah Burns.

The state queens were: Miss MW QLD, Jordan Patterson; MIss MW ACT, Rosanna Boyd; Miss MW WA, Rahdee Hegney; Miss MW NSW, Grace Gowdie; and Miss MW VIC, Alex Hecker.

Australia had been very successful in Miss World in the last three years. Jessica Kahawart finished in 3rd place in 2012, while Erin Holand placed in the Top 10 and was awarded Queen of Oceania. Last year’s queen Courtney Thorpe, meanwhile, finished in the Top 5 and was also Queen of Oceania.
