To represent Chile at the Miss Universe 2023 is 23-year-old public relations student and model Celeste Viel. She represented Comunidad Extranjera during the Miss Universe Chile pageant where is also won the Miss Pasarela award. Celeste Viel will soon compete for the Miss Universe crown in El Salvador later this year.
This year’s Miss Universe Chile pageant was held Radisson Blu in Santiago. Kristina Lie of Puerto Varas is the first runner-up while Santiago’s Magdalena Landshut is the second runner-up. Making it to the Top 5 are Amaya Butrón (3rd runner-up) and Carla Sánchez (4th runner-up).
Chile is currently ranked 41st at the Big5 Ranking. Cecilia Bolocco, who won in 1987, is so far the only Miss Universe titleholder from Chile. The last Chilean contestant to make it to the semis of Miss Universe is Gabriela Barros who landed at the Top 15 in 2004.
