Marta Stepien of Windsor was crowned the new Miss Universe Canada 2018 in glittering ceremonies held August 18 at The George Weston Recital Hall – Toronto Centre for the Arts.
The 24-year-old biomedical engineering technology student bested 43 other candidates for the crown and the right to represent Canada at the 2018 Miss Universe competition to be held in Thailand in December.
Camila Gonzalez placed first runner-up, while Sasha Lombardi was second runner-up. Megha Sandhu and Sallyblossom Wright finished third and fourth runners-up, respectively.
Stepien is a familiar face in the pageant world. After finishing 1st runner-up in last year’s Miss Universe Canada, she was sent to Tokyo, Japan to compete in Miss International.
