Miss Philippines Michelle Dee has officially won the Best in National Costume Award at the Miss Universe 2023 pageant. The contest was decided via public vote using the Miss Universe app. The costume of Michelle was inspired by the fact that she is a reservist of the Philippine Air Force. The bodice of the costume was woven using the traditional Filipino style and the mural at the back shows the best sights of the Philippines. It also incorporates the latest tourism slogan of the country.
Michelle Dee is one of the Top 10 semifinalists of Miss Universe 2023 pageant. She is also a gold awardee of the Voice for Change and she also took the Spirit of Carnival Award. Her victory marks the third time that the Philippines won the Best in National Costume Award at the Miss Universe pageant.
