Selma Kamanya was crowned Miss Namibia 2018 at the conclusion of the pageant held July 7 at the Country Club Resort in Windhoek.
The 21-year-old student at the Namibia University of Science and Technology now holds the right to represent Namibia at the Miss Universe pageant. She also holds a diploma in economics.
“I plan to help women by encouraging education and providing them knowledge of the tools they need in order to make better lives for themselves,” she said in a preliminary interview prior to her crowning.
Clarise van der Vyver and Kabuba Namukokoba were named first and second runners-up, respectively. Alexis van der Merwe and Wilri van Taak completed the Top 5.
