According to Weston Haughton: “Jamaica has a proud tradition at the Miss World pageant, and we are elated to take the baton from Mickey Haughton-James who has done an amazing job with the Miss Jamaica World franchise producing two Miss Worlds; Cindy Breakspeare (1976) and Lisa Hanna (1993) during his tenure.”

Crown of Beauty Jamaica Ltd seeks to recruit the best Jamaican lady to represent the country at the Miss World Pageant annually.  This will be achieved by unearthing, training, and unveiling the nation’s finest women through an annual national search and casting alongside intensive grooming, coaching and preparation that will culminate with the coronation of an ambassador, Miss Jamaica World.

The Miss Jamaica World 2018 planning team is led by professionals in fields ranging from TV Production and marketing to event planning, pageantry and stage production.  Cooke and Haughton are joined by theatre producer and morning television host Dahlia Harris, Miss Jamaica World 1978 Joan McDonald, Attorney at Law Richard Nevers, media personality Roxene Nickle, international casting agent and makeup artist Cecile Burrowes and multimedia specialist Maya Wilkinson.

Nicky Baxter and Junior Taylor will continue to promote the Miss Jamaica World Middlesex and Miss Jamaica World Cornwall regional competitions respectively.

The Miss Jamaica World competition is Jamaica’s premier beauty pageant; the reigning queen, Solange Sinclair finished in the top 10 and was crowned Miss Caribbean continental queen of beauty at Miss World 2017 held in China, last November.  Crown of Beauty Jamaica Limited seeks to advance and support today’s Jamaican women while embracing the Miss World philosophy of Beauty with a Purpose.
