A health and safety coordinator was crowned Miss Gibraltar 2016 at a glittering event held June 4 at the John Mackintosh Hall Theatre in Gibraltar, becoming the 54th pageant winner to wear the crown.
Kayley Mifsud, 24, defeated eight other contestants for the chance to represent the British overseas territory at the 2016 Miss World finals. She also won the Miss Catwalk special award.
“I really was not expecting to take to it but I was just happy competing and going through this whole process with the eight of them,” Mifsud told the Gibraltar Chronicle in an interview.
Joseanne Bear was named first princess and won the Gibraltar Chronicle prize for best interview. Second princess was Aisha Benyahya who also bagged the Miss Photogenic award.
Sarah-Jayne Adnett was voted by her peers as Miss Friendship.
