Yanishta Gopaul was crowned Miss Earth Mauritius 2017 during the finals held at Le Meridien on September 16.
The 19-year-old student will represent the island nation at the 2017 Miss Earth finals to be held in the Philippines in November.
Her elemental court included Krishma Ramdawa (Miss Air), Thriya Hemraz (Miss Water) and Sara-Jane Auguste (Miss Fire). Priyanka N Nundowah and Danidza Diolle were awarded Miss Photogenic and Miss Top Model, respectively.
Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Gabrena Ong graced the event.
Mauritius has yet to win the Miss Earth crown, but placed in the semifinals twice (2013 and 2015). Missooslogy.Org
