Six days before the finals night, the Miss Earth 2017 delegates were officially presented to the members of the press on Monday, October 30.
The 84 lovely candidates showcased their curves and runway skills, as well as their personal advocacies at the pool side of Diamond Hotel Philippines in Manila.
“We have been encouraging our delegates to promote our advocacy even before they arrive to the Philippines,” Ms Lorraine Schuck, Carousel Productions executive vice president, said in a statement. “This way, they can exchange ideas with other delegates and the people they meet here in the country on what can be done to alleviate the effects of climate change.”
Miss Philippines Karen Ibasco was voted as the Darling of the Press (gold medal). Miss Thailand Paweensuda Drouin and Miss Zambia Abigail Chama won silver and bronze, respectively.
Prior to the press presentation, the delegates competed in three rounds of preliminary judging: figure and form, beauty of face and poise, and intelligence and environmental awareness.
Outgoing queen Katherine Espin of Ecuador will be crowning her successor at the conclusion of the coronation night on November 4 at the Mall of Asia Arena. Missosology.Org
