Merel Hendriksen took the title of Miss Beauty of the Netherlands in a glitzy event held in Studio 21 Hilversum. She will represent the Netherlands at the Miss Earth 2022 pageant. Miss Beauty of Noord-Holland Amber Tamara is the first runner-up while Miss Beauty of Groningen Kim Hilshof is the second runner-up.
Merel is a 24-year-old interior designer from Gelderland. She hopes to become the first Dutch beauty to win the Miss Earth title. Her country is ranked 21st in the Big5 Ranking having earned substantial amount of scores from the 1960s to 1990s. At Miss Earth, the Netherlands has a five-year unbroken streak at the semifinals since 2017.
