Miss Departamento de Guatemala Melanie Espina was crowned Miss Guatemala Mundo 2016 on Sunday, besting 12 other candidates for the chance to represent the country in Miss World.
Ana Lucia Villagran, who represented Guatemala Centro, was crowned Miss International Guatemala 2016. She will compete a the 2016 Miss International beauty pageant in Tokyo, Japan next month.
Other winners were Miss Guatemala Intercontinental 2016 Nancy Ortiz, Miss Costa Maya Internacional 2016 Fernanda Flores, Miss Queen & Beauty Universe 2016 Sheila Robledo and Miss Embajadora del Turismo 2016 Ghalia Ortiz.
