A former Miss Teen United States titleholder was crowned Miss Earth United States 2017 on Saturday, August 5 during the finals held in Washington, DC.
Andreia Gibau, representing the state of Massachusetts, will head on to compete at the 2017 Miss Earth finals to be held in the Philippines in November.
The 22-year-old Brockton native is of Cape Verdean descent. She moved to New York City for college and recently graduated with a degree in public relations at St John’s University.
Her elemental court included Miss District of Columbia Ashley Wade (Miss Air), Miss Northwest Iman Brown (Miss Water), and Miss Texas Sydney Wharton (Miss Fire).
