Maria Lael Terlaje was crowned Miss Earth Northern Marianas 2020 during the finals held September 19 atHyatt Regency Saipan.
Terlaje bested four other finalists for the right to compete at the 2020 Miss Earth virtual competition in November. She succeeded outgoing queen Leisha Deleon Guerrero.
“I wear this crown with and for the people of the Marianas, in hopes to lead towards inspiration and passion. I have a drive to make a difference and to inspire our people to choose love, always. My love for the islands will resemble through my work as your new ambassador,” Terlaje wrote on Instagram shortly after winning the crown.
