María Auxiliadora Idrovo, representing New Model Magazine, was crowned Miss World Ecuador 2019 during the finals held April 27 in Guayaquil.
The 18-year-old high school student bested 18 other candidates for the right to compete at the 2019 Miss World competition in December in Thailand.
Fernanda Yépez from Manabi placed first runner-up and will represent the country in Miss Supranational 2019 later this year. Andrea Quito was second runner-up.
