Considered as the front-runner from the beginning, French-Cambodian fashion model Manita Hang breezed through the Miss Universe Cambodia 2022 contest to clinch the crown and the title. The 23 year old, 5’9″ tall beauty has a degree in Accounting and Finance. Her father is French while her mother is Cambodian. Manita Hang speaks several languages including Khmer, French and English.
The finals of Miss Universe Cambodia was held at in the capital city of Phnom Penh. A total of 20 ladies from all over Cambodia vied for the prestigious title. The first runner-up is Heng Sothnisay who, in a moment of confusion, thought that she was the winner after misreading her sash. The second runner-up meanwhile is Heng Bonika. Ratana Sokhavatey and Hun Geklang completed the Top 5. Cambodia sent its first Miss Universe delegate in 2017 and until today, no Cambodian woman was able to land at the semifinals.
After her coronation, Manita Hang has now been tagged as one of the frontrunners for the upcoming Miss Universe 2022 pageant which will be held later this year. She is no stranger in the world of international competition. In 2016, she represented Cambodia at the Miss Tourism Metropolitan International where she finished as second runner-up. The winner of the pageant was Amanda Obdam of Thailand who became Miss Universe Thailand 2020.
