The Miss Earth Indonesia 2016 pageant, organized by El John Pageants, concluded with the crowning of Luisa Andrea Soemitha as the winner. She will compete at the Miss Earth 2016 finals which will be held on October 15, 2016. Asti Wulan Adaninggar meanwhile is named as Miss Earth Air Indonesia 2016 while Aura Ferbiyannisa is Miss Earth Water Indonesia 2016. Completing the Top 4 is Annisa Meidina, who is Miss Earth Fire Indonesia 2016. Meanwhile, Hanny Wulandari Darma was crowned Miss Earth Indonesia Eco-Tourism 2016.
No Indonesian beauty has ever landed in the semis of Miss Earth pageant. This is despite the fact that Indonesia is getting stronger in other Big5 pageants. The country has only earned two National Costume awards during Miss Earth 2013 and in Miss Earth 2014. Nita Sofiani and Annisa Ananda Nusyirwan were hailed as the best in among the costumes from the Asian continent.
