Leyla Espinoza was crowned the new Miss Ecuador during the finals held October 17 in Manta.
The 23-year-old professional model and international business student edged out 19 other candidates for the crown and the right to represent Ecuador in the next edition of the Miss Universe competition.
Saskya Sacasa finished first runner-up, while María Luisa Corrales placed second runner-up. The rest of the Top 7 were Mireya Pérez (third runner-up), Daniela Mera (fourth runner-up), Daniela Rodríguez (fifth runner-up), and Keidy Boza (sixth runner-up).
